Sam Allardyce is set to hold talks with Michel Salgado to get assurances of his stay at Blackburn. The Rovers boss is unsure whether Salgado will decide to stay in East Lancashire next term, with the 35-year-old’s contract expiring this summer, but insists the Spaniard has already proven the doubters wrong.
Allardyce also revealed Michel Salgado’s former Real Madrid team mate Guti was ready to sign in the summer until wage demands scuppered his attempts and believes he could have proved another major addition.
