SALGADO EXTENDS CONTRACT

Michel Salgado is going to stay in Blackburn so he has extended his deal with Blackburn. The 35-year-old Spaniard said earlier this month he was enjoying life in England and was keen to stay on at Rovers as they look to build under new boss Steve Kean and new Indian owners Venky's.

And the former Real Madrid man has followed up that statement by penning a new deal with the Premier League club which will keep him there until the summer of 2012.

Manager Kean told the club's official website: "To keep Michel here is great news.

"His experience is invaluable and his enthusiasm infectious.

"He's a winner and you can never have too many of those."
