SALGADO BACKS WALKER

Former Blackburn Rovers defender Michel Salgado has said that Tottenham defender Kyle Walker would be a great signing for Real Madrid, who are in the market for a new right back. The former Sheffield United defender has impressed in his first full season with the club. He scored a spectacular goal in recent match against Blackburn Rovers.

Ever since moving Sergio Ramos to the centre of defence, Real Madrid have been without a good quality right back. They recently have the Liverpool defender Arbeloa Arbeloa doing the job at the right side of defence, but it is thought that Jose Mourinho would be interested in bringing a young high-quality defender.

The former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado has said that Kyle Walker would be a perfect fit for Real Madrid. The 35-year-old Michel Salgado was recently released from Blackburn Rovers after an agonising six months of hatred within the club. Michel Salgado had announced six months ago that he intended to leave Blackburn after the end of the season to go and play MLS football with David Beckham.

Immediately after his announcement, he was forced away from the first team by the manager Steve Kean. Even though he has been appalled at the way he has been treated in the last six months, Michel Salgado insisted that he has no regrets.

“He (Walker) moves up the field like a bullet. He is really quick and he does a lot of damage in attack, while he is better at the back. For me, he is the best, but his price could make a transfer impossible. Brazilian full-backs are all the same. Spectacular while moving up the field, but they create problems to any team in defence. It is impossible to create damage in attack and defend at the same time. You have to see what Mourinho wants,” Salgado told Man Utd News.

SALGADO MAY MOVE TO MLS

Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado could be set for a reunion with his former teammate David Beckham at LA Galaxy after it was revealed that the player was considering an offer from the MLS club.

The 36-year-old defender is out of contract at the end of the season, and has already revealed that he will leave Blackburn at the end of the season. Blackburn are struggling down near the bottom of the table and are likely to be relegated to the Championship this season. Ever since revealing that he would leave Blackburn, Michel Salgado has not been selected for the matches by manager Steve Kean.

The 36-year-old recently revealed that LA Galaxy are one of the clubs showing interest in signing him. This would mean that it is very much possible that Salgodo will be reunited with his Real Madrid teammate David Beckham at LA Galaxy. Salgado has won the Champions League two times in his illustrious career, but is now coming to the end of his career during which time he has won many trophies. Salgado is thought to have been extremely disappointed at the way the club have treated him since his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

“Michel felt he could have helped the team, but he was told before Christmas that he could not play. He was prepared to rip up his contract and agree to leave in the summer, but they said no. The club wanted him to go in January, but he didn’t want to uproot his children before the end of the school year. Now he is considering offers from the Middle East and Qatar,” said a close source of Michel Salgado. The player is also thought to be interested in a move to the Middle East.

SALGADO ON HIS WAY
